Charollais society looking forward to positive Ploughing
The Charollais breed has seen good clearance rates and prices at this year's sales and the society looks forward to a very successful stand at this year's Ploughing
The Irish Charollais Sheep Society stand will be located in the National Sheep Breeders Association tunnel at this year’s Ploughing.
The stand will feature a selection of pedigree and commercial Charollais sheep and will be maned for the three days by committee members and breeders who will be happy to answer questions and give information about the breed. Society year books with photos and interesting articles from the years gone by will be available to the public to take away to learn more about the breed.
Established 26 years ago, the society has grown to over 240 members and this year will see a number of these members’ prize-winning sheep go on display.

Michael Walsh will be displaying his all-Ireland senior ram champion, while Liam Conway will also be present with the winning pair of ewe lambs from Tullamore Show.
At the commercial end, there will be two Charollais-cross scotch lambs and two Charollais-cross butchers lambs.
This year, the society has seen a big increase on clearance rates at the recent sales, so the committee members are looking forward to a very successful stand at this year’s Ploughing.
