Argentina has decided to lift a ban which it placed on corn exports.
On 30 December, Argentina announced that it would suspend corn exports until the end of February in order to ensure corn supplies in the country.
However, the move was not welcomed by many farmers and a report from Reuters stated that the agriculture ministry had reached agreements to ensure domestic supply and "cushion local prices", therefore allowing the suspension on exports to be lifted.

In place of the export suspension, it is understood that there will be a temporary cap on daily sales abroad of 30,000t.
End to strikes
Port-side grain inspectors lifted their strike over pay last week.
The end to this strike came a week after port-side oilseed workers ended their strike over pay in the country.
The strike by the oilseed workers has seen disruption to soya supplies here in Ireland.
