Dairy farm assistant – Co Kilkenny

A dairy farm in south Kilkenny, near Kilmoganny, is looking to hire a new dairy farm assistant.

The farm has 270 milking cows on a 44-point rotary parlour. The grass-based herd has also a spring-calving system that rears its own replacements.

The full-time role will include duties such as milking, animal health and hygiene, herding, grassland management, some machinery work and general maintenance.

The employer has asked that the candidate would ideally have some dairy farming experience, but this is not essential if they have a positive attitude and are willing to learn. However, a driving license is essential.

The role comes with a standard working week of Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and a competitive salary is offered linked with experience.

Shipley International Loughnavalley Ltd trading as Cows.ie has vacancies for five dairy farm assistants at its enterprise in Loughnavalley, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

The roles come with dairy farm duties such as milking and related activities, cleaning, AI, grassland management, machinery operation and the care of animals.

The employer is seeking applicants with two years of relevant experience and can offer an annual salary of €34,000 with the requirement of working 39 hours per week.

Milker and farm assistant – Co Cork

A new milker/farm assistant is required for a 100-cow dairy herd in Co Cork.

The employer considers their farm to be well set up with modern facilities. The farm is run on a spring calving and grass-based system.

A negotiable pay rate is offered in the full-time contract, as well as plenty of time off available to suitable candidates with some dairy farm experience.

The successful candidate will begin the position in February 2025.
