Danone has ended sales of Karicare infant formula into China according to a report from Reuters.

In the report a spokeswoman for Danone Nutricia said the company stopped supplying the infant formula which was named during the botulism contamination scare in 2013.

Danone Nutricia will continue to sell infant formula in China under their Aptamil and Nutrilon brands while Karicare will remain on the shelves in New Zealand and Australia.

Danone are suing Fonterra, who were supplying milk powder for the manufacture of the product, for losses which they estimate to be €350 million which they incurred as a result of the false alarm. That case has since gone to arbitration.
