It’s time again for Ballylanders Macra’s Irish night. This will be the club’s fourth year holding the event and promises once more to be great fun. Get ready for sets, sieges and social dancing with music from Pacific Blue in the Ballylanders GAA Hall, Ballylanders, Co Limerick on Friday 11 March from 8pm. They will also be holding a charity raffle on the night for Ballylanders and District Lourdes fund. All support is welcome for this great cause. Join them for the pre-St Patrick’s Day festivities and dance the night away. Doors will open at 8pm, with entry just €8.
Rathdowney Macra is proud to present ‘‘the mock divorce of the midlands’’ in aid of Embrace Farm on Saturday 12 March in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel. This follows last year’s hugely successful ‘‘mock wedding’’. Tickets costing €30 per person include a champagne reception, four-course meal, entertainment by Abbeyfolk, a DJ until late, photobooth and an overflowing sweet trolley. A 6k charity fun run or walk takes place on Sunday 13 March starting at the Westlodge Hotel, Bantry. Registration is at 12.30pm with the race starting at 1pm. Entry costs €10. Children under 14 are free. The event is supporting Cork Arc, Cancer Support House and MS Ireland.
Tickets are selling fast for Kerry Macra’s annual social on Wednesday 16 March in the Killarney Oaks Hotel. For tickets, call Louise on 086-446 1540.
Mid-Kerry is holding a tractor run in aid of Down Syndrome Kerry on Sunday 20 March. The meeting point is Miltown mart. Sign-in is from 12pm to 12.45pm, with a starting time of 1pm. The entry fee is €20. For more details, contact 087-761 4560.
