The roadmap for the future of Ireland’s energy is set to be published.
The Energy White Paper is nearing completion and is expected to be published in December.
Speaking in the Dáil on Tuesday, Energy Minister Alex White confirmed that the paper would be published shortly. This was again confirmed by the Department’s press office, which issued The Irish Farmers Journal with the following statement.

“The Energy White Paper is now being finalised and the Minister intends to be in a position to publish the Energy White Paper in December.”
Minister White also confirmed in the Dáil on Tuesday that the Energy White Paper will include policy direction on areas such as solar, off-shore wind and biomass energies. Oil and gas exploration are also likely to be in the Paper.
2016 is set to be a pivotal year in the shaping of the country’s energy needs and how we will generate energy for the next generations.
