Galway IFA has organised a regional meeting focusing on dog worrying of sheep and beagle hunting.
The meeting which takes place next Monday, 11 December, at 8pm in the, Ard Ri Hotel Tuam, Co Galway will be addressed by members of Galway County Council, dog wardens and the gardaí.
The meeting is timely given we are entering into a high-risk period for dog worrying with a number of incidents across the country in recent weeks. It will cast a light on farmers’ rights in dealing with a growing challenge from members of the public walking private lands with dogs on the loose and causing severe stress to animals and farmers.
