John’s design consists of a trough unit that comes in 1.2m (4ft) sections which can be bolted together to give a range of trough lengths to suit your herd size.
The feed is called the extendable QuadTrok and it is designed to be used for feeding meals to calves and sheep out in the field or yard pulled by quad or tractor.
The design is such that the 2mm galvanised steel trough can be bolted together to form 8ft, 12ft, 16ft, 20ft and 24ft troughs, depending on the farm needs. It can be delivered to customers on a Euro pallet due to its bolted flange design. There is a baffle at every joint to strengthen and contain feed within that section. John said that the QuadTrok can be assembled in less than an hour with two 17 spanners.

John has included an attachment which will bolt to the back of the trough to enable the user to pull a second trough behind the first.
