Owners who want to spread solid manure more accurately with their Hi-Spec Xcel 1250 spreaders can now do so with a new weigh cell and application rate monitoring system. The Xcel 1250 spreader can be fitted with the IOSBUS compatible RDS iSOCAN Apollo control system. The required rate is controlled and set using an in-cab colour touch screen. Weigh cells in combination with adjustment in speed of the floor chains maintain a consistent application rate irrespective of forward speed.
The Apollo system is also compatible with 3rd party precision farming systems to enable variable rate application. It can even be configured to engage and disengage when the spreader reaches the headland. For operators who just require a simple weighing system to monitor the total amount of material spread, Hi-Spec offer the Digi-Star GT400 weighing system.
This can be used to weigh individual loads and keep a running total of material spread, useful when the contractor is being paid by weight spread and not by the hour. Other updates to the spreader include the optional sprung drawbar for increased operator comfort.
