With over 500 lots up for grabs, a significant crowd of machinery enthusiasts from all over Ireland made the trip to Co Carlow in search of a bargain at the Kelly’s of Borris clearance auction.

There was a hive of buyer activity on the day for the smaller value lots such as garden equipment and tools, with these items reaching a clearance rate of 95%.

This 2005 John Deere 6920s Autopower tractor sold for €15,000.

There was also significant interest also shown for the tractors and more so the broad selection of implements.

Despite the large crowd, many of the larger lots such as the foragers, combines and wheel loaders failed to meet their reserves. Across the board, the larger equipment had a clearance rate of 65%.

This 2008 Valtra T121 come with front suspension and three spools. With just 4,000 hours showing on the clock, it sold for €15,000.

The lots up for grabs included self-propelled harvesters, combines, tractors, loading shovels, mowers, balers, rakes, sprayers, ploughs and more including smaller stuff such as workshop tools etc.

The auction was hosted Michael Doyle Auctions. All prices listed and the 5% commission are subject to 23% VAT.

This immaculate 2015 Massey Ferguson 7244 combine had just 243 engine hours on the odometer. With an 18ft header, it went unsold at €44,000.

This clean 4x4 John Deere 6810 showing 5,000 engine hours failed to meet its reserve with a top bid of €10,200.

This New Holland TX 34 with a header sold at €8,000.

This 2015 Redrock VM14 tub feeder was a demonstration model. It unsold for €8,000.

This Samson SP12 rear discharge dung spreader came with a full set of new chains. It sold for €4,000.

This 2010 JCB 456 industrial wheel loader with a full service history was sold for €14,000.

This 2006 Welger RP 235 with 85,000 bales on the clock sold for €5,200.

This Sunward 4t mini digger on the right was showing only 150 hours on the odometer. Powered by a Kubota engine, it sold for €24,500. The 2.5t mini digger on the left was new and powered by a Yanmar engine. It went unsold at €20,000.

This tidy 2016 10ft Krone 320 side mounted conditioner mower sold for €8,000.

This Abbey 3,000 gallon tandem axle slurry tanker sold for €5,000.

This 2006 Horsch Pronto 4DC grain only four metre drill went unsold at €6,000.

This 2011 McHale F550 had 40,000 bales on the clock and sold for €11,100.

This 2004 Hardi 4,400 litre sprayer with a 28m boom went unsold at €5,000.

This Overum 6108H six furrow semi mounted plough sold for €3,200.
