As the exclusive authorised Dairymaster dealer for the Leinster region, the Allen Dairy team provides sales, service and technical support to the dairy farming industry.
Supplying and servicing for Dairymaster dairy equipment, the Kildare-based business covers dairy farm equipment needs in counties including Wicklow, Carlow, north Wexford, south Dublin, Kilkenny, Laois and Kildare.
Dairymaster automatic meal feeders allow meal to be fed down to 0.1kg/cow.
About the role
The main responsibilities for the installation and service technician include the fitting, servicing and repair of milking machines.
The chosen candidate will also be expected to fit, repair and maintain other farmyard equipment, such as hydraulic scrapers and feeders.
Due to the seasonal nature of the dairy farming industry, the chosen candidate must be flexible and willing to work overtime if required (can occasionally involve weekend work).
As part of the service, the technician will liaise with customers on work undertaken and related matters.
The preparation and delivery of technical job reports is another key aspect of this role.
The chosen candidate will ensure that quality, environmental and health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
This position will involve working on farms in and around the Leinster area.
About you
Ideally, the company is looking for someone who is accustomed to working in an agricultural environment, with experience in dairy services.
Experience in electrical and plumbing installation is preferred, but not essential.
The ability to work as part of a team is fundamental to this role.
The chosen installation and service technician will be able to fit and service batch feeders also.
The chosen candidate must be willing to work in varied roles as required
Confidence and the ability to work on one’s own initiative is crucial.
Strong communication and customer service skills are central to this job’s daily duties.
Accuracy and an analytical mind-set are required, as well as punctuality.
A candidate who is based locally or willing to relocate would be at an advantage.
In summary, the company is looking to recruit a person with an honest and hardworking attitude.
