Brian Leslie has been appointed chief executive of the Kerry Co-op board.
It is understood that the appointment was made last week.
The Kerry Co-op board is a representative group for around 3,000 milk suppliers to the overall Kerry Group. It is essentially the farmer wing of the Kerry Group.
Two representatives of the co-op board sit on the plc board.
Leslie is a former agribusiness editor of the Irish Farmers Journal and he established a debt management company, Prima Finance, in Kerry.
A spokesman for Kerry Group told the Irish Farmers Journal that it has not yet been informed of the appointment.
“We are not aware of any appointment either as secretary or chief executive of the co-op board. The Co-op board is independent of the group plc. It has a 13.7% shareholder of Kerry Group plc and its objective is to manage that asset,” the spokesman said.
