“On a regular work day, I like to keep it as simple and as comfortable as possible. I tend to wear good fitted trousers and a blouse or a dress and a suit jacket. If we have clients over, I’ll dress more formally. The dress code here is smart casual with casual Fridays. I’m always trying to wear more colour as I wear a lot of black and grey. I find dresses really easy to wear – a black dress and a jacket is always a good combination. I tend to keep it simple with accessories. I’d wear scarves to add colour to an outfit. As general manager, I would be out of the office a few days a month. If I’m out, I tend to wear the ‘‘Carla’’ jacket – it’s a long, soft, shell jacket, so it’s great to feel instantly smart and it keeps me warm and dry.”

“It’s important to have a wardrobe that’s versatile. On a typical work day, I wear basics – usually monochrome – and I’d wear one statement piece like a chunky necklace or a jacket to tie it all together. It’s easy to revert back to black but I always try and keep one standout piece to make it a little bit more fashion forward. Because we’re on the west coast, it’s hard sometimes to get to Dublin or Galway to do shopping.

“There are nice boutiques in Castlebar and Westport. Annette Gerald in Castlebar is great; it has a lot of lovely brands like Guess and French Connection.

“I’m the senior buyer and marketing manager. I do a lot of design for the leisurewear range, and also purchasing, so there’s a bit of travel involved. I also do the marketing side.”

Necklace: Bought at a vintage market

“I’m kind of known in the office as the one who does a lot of internet shopping because there are always packages coming in for me. When I get something in, everyone wants to see it. One time I ordered three handbags and they all came at once and everyone was looking at me like I was mad! Because we’re down the west, it’s not very accessible to get to shops. I use Asos a lot and I like Misguided. Locally, there’s a nice boutique in town called Gúna Nua – they have lovely occasion wear.

“My go-to wardrobe staples are a really good black pencil skirt, a really good navy pencil skirt and a few pairs of trousers, and I mix and match these with different tops. Depending on what I’m wearing, I’ll throw on a statement necklace or a different watch.

“I’m mainly office based, so I usually have bits in the car if a meeting comes up – I have a nice blazer or high heels on hand to throw on.”
