Delegates have travelled across the country for the annual Women & Agriculture conference, which is in its ninth year. This year’s conference takes place in the west for the first time in Co Sligo.
Speakers today include Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed, Margaret Farrelly of Clonarn Clover, and Fionnuala Kenny, who will discuss what it is like to be the Taoiseach’s wife. Fionnaula, the former press officer for Charlie Haughey, rarely speaks publicly.
Irish Country Living editor Mairead Lavery said that the conference offers serious information on farm businesses, including succession planning, with a focus on mindfulness and general wellbeing.
Listen to “Voices from the opening of the Women and Agriculture conference” on Spreaker.
Some 600 women are due to attend the event. Stay tuned to www.farmersjournal.ie for updates throughout the day.
