MartBids, the recently launched Irish Farmers Journal mart app, has been updated this week to include live pricing information.
Farmers who download the app to their smartphone will now be able to see the prices of animals sold at the mart in realtime as they go through the ring. The prices will be sent straight to your phone, no matter where you are in the country, along with a full sale catalogue on the day of the sale.
The app currently has 10 marts signed up: Mid Tipp, Athenry, Balla, Birr, Carnew, Corrin, Ennis, Kilkenny, Nenagh and Roscrea.

In another new development, MartBids users will also be able to view animal adverts with photos ahead of sales.
Anyone wishing to download the app can do so from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
The Irish Farmers Journal livestock team will be reporting from marts each week using the MartBids data on www.farmersjournal.ie.
