Fleming Agri is introducing two models of trailing shoes, namely 7.5m and 9.2m units. The Northern Irish manufacturer has been building tankers since 2010, but in the past has used outside suppliers for its low-emission equipment.

The cantilever lift system, which has a patent pending, allows maximum clearance for headland management and transport, while also allowing the machine to float laterally to keep the shoes in constant contact with the ground, even on undulating ground.

The company says the system also allows the machine to be dropped down, when in transport position, to lower than the overall tanker height, an advantage where there is an issue with access to lower farm buildings.

Macerator

The shoes are fed via a proven Truflo macerator to a smooth and unrestricted distribution pipe system, to avoid blockages for accurate application rates. The spacing of shoes has been kept to 250mm.

With its design, it has opted for a close coupled bracket mounted machine for safe attachment and better weight distribution. After extensive testing on farms throughout the country, the machines are now entering production.

Both models will make their debut at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.
