FTMTA national conference 2015
It has been decided by the FTMTA executive council to hold a national conference of the association later this year.
The FTMTA national conference will be held in The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Co Laois, on Friday 20 November. The theme of the conference will be “Driving Your Business Forward”, which is extremely relevant in such a challenging year for Irish agriculture with the consequent effect on the farm machinery sector.
This will be the first national conference held by the association since 2012 and, as in previous years, a high-calibre panel of speakers will address issues of particular relevance to the machinery industry.
As always, the association encourages members to take one day out of their own business to look at and think about the business.
An added dimension to the conference this year will be a conference dinner to be held on the evening of the conference and made possible by the generous support of the Irish Farmers Journal.
Full details in relation to the conference will be issued to member firms in the coming days and the conference will be open to FTMTA member firms only.
Award presentation
The FTMTA gold award for 2015, and for which nominations opened last week, will now be presented at the FTMTA national conference.
Instituted in 2004, the gold award is made by the association to a person who is considered by the executive council to have given outstanding or long service to the association or the agricultural machinery industry in general.
Nominations can be made in writing only on the official form, which was circulated to member firms in recent days and which is also available from the FTMTA office. Nominations of individuals from outside the industry may only be made by or through an executive council member. Nominations must be received by post, fax or email no later than Friday 2 October.
