Pat O’Donnell will be bringing a range of Volvo, Thwaites and Avant equipment to this year’s National Ploughing Championships.

The machine that will grab the eye of any loader enthusiast will be the Volvo L90H. This 186hp articulated loader is at home in many environments but would be considered among some silage contractors as the go-to machine for silage pit duties. It weighs 14,500kg and it has plenty of optional extras.

These include boom suspension, third and fourthth hydraulic function, LED lights, a rear-view camera and a reversible fan. Volvo offers a range of attachments, depending on the application, and will have a silage fork on display in Tullamore.

Pat O’Donnell will also bring two excavators to Tullamore. A Volvo EC140EL with a hammer will be on display. This machine has an operating weight range of up to 17t and can be specified with a range of buckets or hammer.

The second excavator on display will be an ECR25D. This machine has an operating weight up to 2,600kg and is ideal for tasks where access is an issue thanks to its narrow 1.5m width.

From the Thwaites range of dumpers, there will be both 1t and 9t models on display.

The Avant range of articulated tool-carriers on the stand will be a 420s with silage fork, a 635 with push broom, a 640 with pallet forks and a 750+. These machines are ideal for small sheds or stables where access is an issue or in low-roofed houses.
