All the latest poultry farming news from the Irish Farmers Journal. Keep up to date with all poultry farming and production news developments in the poultry sector.
From the farm gate to inside the house, poultry vet Aonghus Lane outlined a number of areas where farmers can ensure their biosecurity is at the highest level.
The main speaker for the event is Aonghus Lane of St David's Poultry veterinary practitioners, who will deliver a presentation on the critical importance of biosecurity.
It comes after the Department announced that a strict compulsory housing order for all poultry and captive birds will come into effect from Monday 17 February.
Strict new biosecurity regulations for poultry were introduced on 6 December 2024 in response to the increased risk posed to Irish poultry flocks by the presence of avian influenza virus.
The announcement was made on Thursday to further enhance the state’s preparedness after a case of the virus was confirmed in cattle on farms in southern California.
