The Midlands Connemara Pony Breeders Group has just announced a new sponsorship package from Willows Ingredients Ltd Gorey, Co Wexford. The main event is the Midlands All-Ireland Broodmare Championship for four-year-old and over mares with a foal at foot. Qualifiers will take place at shows all over Ireland and the final will take place at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on 27 July with a prize fund of €1,500.
In addition to this championship, there will also be five other mare classes. The Midlands Group is offering a new breeding incentive to the owners of the other five class winners who on production of a foal cert within 14 days of foaling in 2015 will receive a breeding bonus of €200.

PRO Ruth Rogers said: “The committee are pleased to provide this initiative in an effort to support breeders.”
Connolly’s Red Mills is taking over sponsorship the performance classes, while Noel Noonan of Manor Connemara Ponies will continue his support for the supreme championship.
This year’s judging panel will be: Tim Carey, Rachel Bennett, Jane Darragh, Gill Glynn, Dorothy Guilford and Mary McCann. Assignments for Rings & Midlands All-Ireland Broodmare Championship will be made at a later date.
