A charity auction with as varied a range of items as you’re likely to see in the middle aisle of a German discounter supermarket caught my eye.
Among the items is: “the making of 50 bales, cut and wrapped, the whole shebang”.
A pair of Aubrac calves, six hours of stone picking or fencing appears twice, eight hours of welding, 10 sets of milk liners and “an all-expenses date with Jimmy” is also up for grabs, as is a Saturday of digger work. Goleen GAA in west Cork is hosting the event this Saturday in Norma’s Bar with all proceeds going to Stand 4 Feile.
