"Felfie" competition shortlisted for award

It’s been a busy week for the Irish Farmers Journal on the digital media front, with the "felfie" being considered for inclusion in a Collins "Twictionary”.

The origional and the best PJ Ryan from Newport, Co. Tipperary taking a 'selfie'. It attracted a global audience and started a trend for farmers to take "felfies".

You may remember the ‘felfie’ competition run by the Irish Farmers Journal last Christmas, which was won by Tipperary farmer PJ Ryan who took a selfie with his Saler cattle in the background.

The competition is now a finalist in the Social Media Awards, which take place on 5 June in the Bord Gais Energy theatre, for innovative use of social media.

The word ‘felfie’ is now also shortlisted alongside eight other words for inclusion in the Collins English dictionary, Twictionary. You can vote for felfie to be included by visiting twictionary.collinsdictionary.com
