Applications for the 2019 Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applications are due to open next week, according to Brian Alcock of the Department of Agriculture.
Alcock was speaking at an Agricultural Consultants Association (ACA) environmental training day held in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Thursday 7 February.
This will help to reduce inconsistencies between maps used for different schemes

He also outlined that a new mapping system will be used for Co Louth in 2019.

This system will be rolled out to other counties in the coming years.
