A power struggle to take control of the Kerry Co-op board has ramped up in recent days after recent elections for three board seats resulted in some new faces on the board.
The changes to the board dynamic has set the scene for Pat Rohan, a dairy farmer from west Kerry, to challenge Mundy Hayes to be the next chair of Kerry Co-op.
The vote for co-op chair will take place in two weeks and could have major implications for shareholders in the ongoing negotiations between Kerry Co-op and Kerry Group over a proposed multimillion euro joint venture deal.
