William Caulfield of Cregmore, Claregalway, Co Galway, features on the most recent tax defaulters list for under-declaration of capital acquisitions tax.
Vet Daniel McCarthy of 8 Oliver Plunkett Street, Bandon, Co Cork, is also on the list, with a bill from Revenue of €42,910 for under-declaration of income tax.
A company listed as a meat processor is facing one of the highest bills from Revenue, with a €478,257 fine.
Revenue stated that the processor, Green Farm Foods, with an address in Glenlough, Rathowen, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, had under-declared corporation tax.
Tax returns
In total, 11 farmers were fined for failing to lodge income tax returns. The lowest fine was €1,250, with the highest fine of €5,000 for Francis Malachy Fallon of Mount Talbot, Co Roscommon, who is listed as an agricultural contractor and farmer.
Green diesel
Some six farmers were hit with fines for being caught using green diesel. Fines ranged from €2,500 up to €3,000. Overall, farmers had to hand over €16,000 for using green diesel.
One livestock haulier was also fined for using green diesel. HE Livestock International Ltd, with an address at The Lodge, Milltown, Newcastle, Co Dublin, was fined €3,000.
