The front-mounted dribble bar is said to improve the tanker's balance and manoeuvrability, as well as operator visibility.

Dribble bar and umbilical slurry system manufacturer Slurryquip has expanded its product offerings, venturing into the slurry tanker market with the recent launch of its Cerberus range. The Northern Irish manufacturer describes the Cerberus as one of the first purpose-built low-emission spreading slurry tankers specially developed around a dribble bar rather than the dribble bar being developed around the tanker.
The front-mounted dribble bar folds neatly into the cutaway slots at the front of the tanker which is claimed to improve balance, manoeuvrability and operator visibility.
The manufacturer says its patented design came about in response to customer feedback. Some customers of retrofit dribble bar systems were having traction issues after fitting these solutions. This, the firm say, is because of the added weight placed to the back of the tanker, leaving it off balance with less weight on the drawbar where it is needed for tractor traction. The Cerberus range is available in three sizes – 2,250gals, 2,500gals and 2,750gals – all of which are seated on a single commercial axle shod with 800 tyres. Larger tandem-axle models are expected to follow in 2021.

Dribble bar sizes range from 7.8m up to 14m, each fitted with Slurryquip’s in-house built macerator with 50mm distribution pipes. Optional extras include a downhill spreading feature whereby the tanker automatically switches to empty from either front or rear outlets depending on its position on the hill, making sure it empties fully every time. Other options include a flow meter, load-sensing air brakes and a spreading computer.
