Gardaí are investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy who passed away on Tuesday at Temple St Children’s Hospital in Dublin following a quad bike accident on a farm a week earlier. The boy was transported from the scene at at Ballygamboon, Castlemaine, Co Kerry, to University Hospital, Tralee, and then airlifted to Dublin.

The boy was transported from the scene at at Ballygamboon, Castlemaine, Co Kerry, to University Hospital, Tralee, and then airlifted to Dublin.
An Garda Síochána will submit a report to the Coroner’s Office, a spokesperson said. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal that it is also investigating the circumstances of this incident.
Local councillor Michael O'Shea told the Irish Farmers Journal that the boy was understood to be visiting his grandparents' farm when the accident happened.
