Harvest progress has been challenging. Broken weather continues in much of the country. There was an amount of cutting done last week, as growers moved into early-sown spring barley and winter wheat. Most yield reports have been good, but some are also disappointing. Grain quality appears to be good to very good, but high protein in malting barley remains a concern for crops still to be harvested. However, the prospect of a prolonged broken spell could cause KPH numbers to drop.
