Two good-sized blocks of land will be sold in online auctions in October by Murtagh Bros.

The first under the hammer will be 62ac at Killeigh, Tullamore, Co Offaly, which will be sold on 6 October at 3pm on the LSL platform.

This farm is in permanent pasture and forestry. It has frontage onto a local public road.

The auctioneers say that there are entitlements to the EU Basic Payment Scheme on this land with a unit value of €112.20 each. They will be offered with the land.

The land and entitlements will be offered in lots as follows:

  • Lots 1 is 13ac and it is offered with five entitlements.
  • Lot 2 is 16ac and is offered with 6.5 entitlements. Both lots 1 and 2 are in permanent pasture with road frontage.
  • Lot 3 is 33ac. Of this, 16.5ac is forestry that was planted in 2018 and which has a forestry premium payment of approximately €3,470 per annum. The remainder of the land is in grass. Lot 3 will be offered with 6.5 entitlements.
  • To find this farm, take the N80 south from Tullamore towards Killeigh. After approximately 7km turn left at Condron Tyres. After 250m, lots 1 and 2 will be on the left and right hand sides of the road. Continue a further 400m to reach lot 3.

    Mullingar land

    The second farm is 75ac at Dalystown, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. This will also be sold on the LSL platform on Thursday 7 October at 3pm.

    The 75ac holding at Dalystown, Mullingar has this fine cattle handling and loading set up.

    This farm is in a central, convenient location. It is just off the N52 which links Tyrrellspass to Mullingar. It sits between the M6 and the M4/N4 motorways. Tyrrellspass, Rochfortbridge, Killbeggan and Mullingar are all close by.

    The farm has extensive frontage onto two public roads, the L1122 and L1118.

    The land is all in permanent pasture and is good quality grassland. It is laid out in 10 main fields and is well fenced.

    The 75ac at Dalystown has frontage on to two public roads.

    The farm has a small handling yard with collecting and holding pens and a cattle crush with high back wall. This unit is well designed and constructed and is in good condition.

    “This is a good solid farm,” auctioneer Dillon Murtagh said. “It also has lots of road frontage.” The guide price is €700,000.
