The decision on whether to proceed with a sugar beet factory will be finalised by the end of the year, Beet Ireland has told a meeting organised by the Irish Tillage and Land Use Society (ITLUS). The money, €1,000 per farmer, will fund a new co-op to drive the project through to the construction stage following the purchase of a site for the proposed factory.Beet Ireland are holding a meeting in conjunction with the Irish Grain Growers Group (IGGG) in the Talbot Hotel in Carlow on Thursday 15 November at 8.00pm. This meeting is open to all.
