I see O’Shea Farms has successfully brought the 102-year-old potato variety, Arran Victory, back to life. The Piltown-based agri-food company identified Arran Victory as the best all-round growing and eating potato in its heritage potato production trials. The variety will now be sold in 1kg bags in 145 Aldi stores nationwide.

Arran Victory was initially produced after World War I and it is one of only two purple-skinned varieties with a white creamy flesh.
