Investment lands owned by Farmer Business Developments plc in Berlin are set to remain undeveloped for at least another year as Berlin’s biggest construction site and its long-delayed airport has ousted its boss after only two years in the job.

The long -awaited Willy Brandt Airport is already billions of euros over budget and more than five years behind schedule. Construction started in 2006 and the opening was planned for 2012. It’s still not certain when it will open.

In 2008, Farmer Business Developments invested almost €20m in a McEvaddy-led syndicate which had an interest in development lands at Schönefeld adjacent to the new airport. Today, Farmer Business Developments has a 47% stake in the development land.

Farmer Business Developments says there is significant interest among developers and market sentiment for its development lands is positive. The new airport will have a capacity of 27 million passengers.
