Numbers have increased in the last week once again. The weather has started to have an effect on the trade this week and will probably result in higher numbers of store cattle on offer again next week. While prices were back a little this week, it was mainly plainer stores that bore the brunt of the dip. Top-quality stores continue to be relatively steady. The number of weanlings on offer is still low, but will increase in the coming weeks, and strong farmer and exporter demand is keeping a relatively firm floor under prices. In terms of the sheep trade, factory-fit and heavy lambs are a strong trade. Prices were a little easier than last week, by €1 to €2/head, but compared with last year, the lamb trade is holding strong.
