These winners were selected from the 500 best-performing dairy farmers in Ireland in terms of SCC, who all received a plaque to mark their achievement on their farm. They are all within a range of 37,000 cells/ml to 97,000 cells/ml, AHI reported recently.
Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney attended the event and congratulated the winners, hailing a “hat-trick from Cork”.

AHI chief executive Joe O’Flaherty said that a 10% reduction in SCC would save the Irish dairy industry €38m per year.
