I made my BPS application online in the Department’s office in Drumshanbo today (Wednesday). It was my first time to do the application myself and found the whole process satisfactory. My nephew got me registered for online two years ago but I had forgot my password in the meantime.
The staff in the office showed me how to set up a new password. I then made the application with their assistance when needed. The best thing I like about the online system is the reduced chance of making a mistake. If you do make a mistake, they said I will be notified and have a chance to make a change without getting a penalty. When you make a paper application and make a small error it could easily mean you are waiting for your payment at the end of the year. For people my age [early 50s] and older I think assistance like this should be continued if they want us to switch totally to online next year. Once I went through the security procedure of registration the whole online application process was straightforward, it only took two minutes.
