The agricultural show season got off to a damp start with the cancellation of Thomastown Show. Newmarket-on-Fergus went ahead last Sunday where Tiernan Gill’s Balmoral-bound two-year-old Walk In The Park (by Sir Shutterfly) was the champion young horse and Lucy Townsley’s intermediate champion Wonderful Everyday was the overall supreme champion pony.
Remembering Pat
One familiar face missing from Sunday’s show was the late Pat McNamara. The Broadford man is also remembered as owner of the legendary Clover Hill, bought as a foal from breeder Matt Page.
Pat’s wife Mary and niece Yvonne, Bridgetown Show’s secretary are pictured with ISA national secretary Michael Hughes.
The ISA yearbook, priced at €10 including postage, are available from the Irish Shows Association, Pinegrove, Mountbellew, Co Galway.
