Five champion hurdlers on
display
Hurricane Fly, Jezki, Binocular, Hardy Eustace and current reigning champion Faugheen will be part of the star-studded lineup in the Parade of Champions on day two of the Longines Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh on Sunday 13 September.
Taking place in the ring after the first race, the parade will also include the legendary Moscow Flyer and Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Casual Conquest, owned by Moyglare, who was also placed in both the Irish and Epsom Derby.
Also parading will be Forpadydeplasterer, a prolific winner on the track and also successful in the recent racehorse to riding class at the Dublin Horse Show for a second consecutive year.
He will be ridden side-saddle by his owner Joanne Quirke.
Curragh racecourse general manager, Evan Arkwright, commented: “Longines Irish Champions Weekend is all about celebrating champions both past and present, and we are delighted that racegoers will be the unique opportunity to see five Champion Hurdlers together for the first time.”
The Childhood Cancer Foundation will also be raising funds on 13 September with a stand at the meeting, and the second annual Light It Up Gold Lunch will take place.
There will also be free children’s entertainment in the Moyglare Stud Kids Zone while Emerald Garrison, Ireland’s Star Wars Costuming Club, will be out in force to support the Childhood Cancer Foundation. All support is welcomed.
