To mark the first United Nations (UN) World Bee Day, Rathanna Community Garden, Co Carlow are holding a World Bee Day Festival on Sunday 19 May, starting at 2pm.
Although officially the UN designated BeeDay will take place on 20 May, the organisers in Rathanna have decided to celebrate this event on Sunday 19 May to allow for a get together of all those interested in celebrating.
Bee Day celebrations in Rathanna will include a plant swop (so bring along your extra plants), bee keeping demonstrations, children’s activities and biodiversity discussions, as well as a general social gathering. Refreshments will be served in Rathanna Hall.
