The beef trade remains in a steady position this week, with quotes relatively unchanged from last week. Bullocks are working off a base price of €7.40/kg, with heifers coming in at €7.50/kg this week.
Some processors in the south of the country did try to drop quotes by 10c/kg earlier this week, but got very few cattle bought at the lower quote.
Those with numbers are still working off quotes 20-30c/kg ahead of standard quotes. Finished cattle remain in short supply, with some finishers holding back cattle until 2026 for tax reasons.
