I see there is a new name on the market in genetics circles – Solnua.

Dairy and beef genetics developed, sourced and progeny tested by the Irish National Breeding Centre (NCBC) are distributed in Ireland by Progressive Genetics and Munster Bovine. Solnua has now been established as a new global marketing and distribution arm handling international trade of genetics.

While having a glance at the new setup I see that one of the first significant business deals completed is cleverly marketed as Rembrandt – the Prodigal Son returns to France.

The return of the prodigal son is a famous oil painting by the celebrated artist Rembrant van Rijn.

Now the popular NCBC Irish Limousin AI bull, Keltic Rembrandt, is living up to his cultural reference by having his semen exported to the home of Limousins – France.

Bred by Teleri Thomas and Mac Murphy in their Meath pedigree herd, Keltic Rembrandt is a son of the Edakkya and the famous cow Keltic Jolediva by Ampertaine Foreman and is a graduate of the NCBC beef breeding programme.
