Earlier this month the first Blue Texel NI Show and Sale of pedigree females was held at Dungannon Farmers Market. Overall, a steady trade and high clearance rate was witnessed.
Tasked with judging the event was Allen Shortt of the Derg flock. He found his overall champion in Clenagh Cherry-Blossom from Adrian and Clive Richardson. The stylish shearling ewe later sold for the top price of 1,800gns to Stephen Williamson. Sired by Solway View Bullet, she sold carrying twins to stock ram Whatmore Cider.
Cleenagh also secured the reserve championship with the second-placed shearling ewe Cleenagh Cornflake. This Whatmore Expert daughter also sold carrying twins to Whatmore Cider, with the judge forking out 1700gns to secure her.

Next best was lot 76 Fingerpost Crystal from A and S Irvine. This Millend Applejack sired ewe sold for 1,050gns to M Hollywood, Omagh.
Topping the ewe lambs was lot 78 Cleenagh Dressed To kill. Sired by renowned Solway View Bullet, she sold for 1,000gns to J Redmond for his Orchard Flock.
Overall, in-lamb shearlings sold to average 720gns, while ewe lamb average settled at 700gns.
