Refill revolution in Castlebar

If you have ever run out of water in the middle of a walk, you will appreciate this. A new public drinking water refill station has opened at Crucspullagadaun Loop Walk in Castlebar, Co Mayo – one of 43 installed nationwide by the National Federation of Group Water Schemes. Backed by the Circular Economy Fund, the project makes it easier to top up and cut down on single use plastic. Local schoolchildren joined the launch, a small but meaningful step towards greener everyday habits. For more information or to get involved with your local group water scheme, please visit nfgws.ie.

Minister Alan Dillon, Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment’s Circular Economy Fund with special responsibility for the Circular Economy, formally launches the project, joined by PBKS Group Water Scheme personnel, NFGWS CEO Mark Farrelly, and members of the Federation(NFGWS) team.
