Prices for green tractor diesel trended upwards this week following a sudden upwards spike in global wholesale oil prices on Monday.
That was triggered by drone bomb attacks on Saturday on major oil production facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Wholesale prices, such as for Brent crude oil, jumped by 20% to 30% on Monday.
However, Irish suppliers are now indicating to customers that price won’t rise further this week and could ease downwards.
Concerns ease
That’s because these international concerns have eased. Saudi Arabia has said its oil output will return to normal by the end of this month.
This week prices for green diesel are in the range of 62c/l to 66c/l plus 13.5% VAT, depending on location, order size and payment terms.
White diesel in bulk is being quoted in the range of 104c/l to 109c/l before 23% VAT or at 128c/l to 134c/l including VAT.
