Wexford Pantomime Society presents Sleeping Beauty

With shows taking place from 13 -18 January, the Wexford Pantomime Society is back with another magical adventure – Sleeping Beauty at the National Opera House.

Now in their 57th year, the group are inviting attendees to join them for a show filled with laughter, music, dance and the unforgettable sparkle that always features in a Wexford Panto.

The story opens with a joyous celebration at the palace as King Stefan and Queen Clara introduce their baby daughter, Princess Aurora.

Joxer the court jester, the loveable comic guide, brings the audience along as the Good Fairies arrive to bestow their blessings. The festivities are rudely interrupted when the wicked, evil fairy Maleficent crashes the party, furious at not being invited. She casts a cruel curse: on her eighteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die. Thankfully, the Good Fairies soften the spell, ensuring that instead Aurora will fall into a deep sleep, broken only by true love’s kiss.

Will true love be strong enough to break the curse?

Written and directed by Thomas O’Leary, choreographed by Suzanne O’Leary and with musical direction by Yvette White, this production features a local front-line and over 100 young people.

Tickets are on sale from €17 - €25
