European dairy processors are continuing to increase milk prices, despite the heat coming out of the commodity market.

They are setting milk prices for August now, whereas Irish processors have just finalised and paid for June milk.

This week, DOC Kaas and parent company DMK raised August milk price. The lift puts DOC Kaas ahead of Friesland Campina and Arla – two European dairy powerhouses.

According to the DOC Kaas announcement, they lifted €3.10/100kg, bringing the base milk price to € 61.67/100kg (over 60c/litre base). Bonuses for grazing, etc, bring it to over €63/100kg.

The cheesemaker thus sets the provisional highest milk price for August.

FrieslandCampina kept its milk price the same. Arla increased by €1.17/100kg.
