Five blocks of land have been put on the market in Co Cavan by Bailieborough auctioneer Peter Murtagh.

He is offering a 57ac farm at Greaghagarran and Lear, West Knockbride. The area is 12km from Bailieborough and 4km from Canningstown. This is an executor’s sale and the farm is being offered as a whole or in two lots.

One lot is 40ac at Greaghagarran, which the auctioneer describes as sound ground with large tracts suitable for mowing. The guide price is €300,000 to €320,000 (€7,500-€8,000/ac).

The second lot is 17ac at Lear and it includes an extensive farmyard with slatted cattle sheds, a silage pit, machinery sheds and a concrete apron. A small part of this lot is marginal land. This lot is guided at €125,000 to €150,000 (€7,353-€8,824/ac).

The auctioneer is offering a 46ac farm at Derrydamph as a unit or in two lots. The area is 11km from Bailieborough. One lot is 36ac with an old dwelling and this is guided at in excess of €200,000 (€5,555/ac). The second lot is 8ac of old rough plantation with frontage on to Skeagh Lake. The auctioneer is open to offers of €25,000 (€3,125/ac) and above for this lot.

A 20ac block of land with a derelict house is on offer at Coolnacola & Greaghadoo. Peter Murtagh said that this land comes with approval for forestry. It is accessible from two local roads and is guided at €120,000 (€6,000/ac).

A 7.5ac field at Seeoran, Tunnyduff, which is suitable for mowing, also has forestry approval. It is guided in the range of €45,000 to €50,000 (€6,000-€6,666/ac).
