They’ll have a range of experts on hand over the three days from all areas to meet customers and discuss any banking requirements or questions you may have.

It’s not all business though. Bank of Ireland will have guest appearances from elite GAA and rugby stars who will drop in over the course of the three days to provide their expertise both on and off the pitch. Over the course of the Ploughing, Bank of Ireland will feature exciting activities, speakers and competitions that will be of interest to all spectators. Expect a buzz around the bank’s tent as they’ll be giving people the opportunity to win an array of prizes including a €2,000 fuel voucher.

There will also be a virtual reality experience that will be sure to excite and delight visitors.

AIB

AIB says it recognises that 2016 has been a challenging year for farmers. Despite these challenges, they continue to place a huge emphasis on supporting farmers and the agricultural sector. A dedicated team of agri-advisers will be on hand to support farming customers with assistance and guidance on their business and personal banking needs.

The AIB stand will also host a series of Shed Talks each day where a number of guest speakers will discuss the future of farming in Ireland. This year, AIB will be sponsoring the Irish Farmers Journal National Ploughing Championships app, which will allow you to plan your attendance at the event, find details of the show, locate your car in the car park, find out more about AIB and its attendance at the Ploughing as well as news surrounding the event. So make sure to download the app and keep up-to-date on all the Ploughing events. As usual, AIB will have a number of competitions so make sure to drop in to win.

Central Bank of Ireland

Head over to the Central Bank tent and get your photo taken with €500,000 in shredded banknotes, it will certainly make a great photo for Facebook.

The Central Bank of Ireland and the European Central Bank will attend the Ploughing, celebrating the centenary of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic with a currency exhibition. They will be displaying collector coins to commemorate the centenary and some of these will be available to purchase on the day.

Visitors will be among the first in Europe to witness the exhibition of the new €50 note ahead of its circulation in Ireland next year. A number of special guests will also appear including deputy governor Sharon Donnery and a numismatist to provide guidance on rare or valuable coins.

Central Bank experts will also be on site to answer your questions on the new regulations on lending to SMEs and farm enterprises as well as more general questions on the bank’s role in safeguarding stability and protecting consumers.

There will also be loads of goodies including chocolate coins, pens and shredded notes for visitors and one lucky person each day will win a 2016 collector coin.

Taking Care of Business

The Taking Care of Business stand is your one-stop shop for meeting representatives of state agencies and bodies.

Every year thousands of spectators at the Ploughing find out ways to save money and get support and tools to assist in their business ventures. This year will feature a number of agencies including Microfinance Ireland, the Credit Review Office and the Central Statistics Office.

There will be plenty of presentations and demonstrations over the three days and visitors will have the chance to see Revenue drug and tobacco dogs in action.

For budding entrepreneurs, this is a great chance to meet with a variety of State bodies and get some practical information.
