Michelin has introduced a tyre for use on high-horsepower tractors, sprayers and treatment machinery used for managing crops grown in rows, such as potatoes, carrots and maize.Previously available only on the North American market, the YieldBib tyre is narrower than those normally fitted to 250+hp tractors and comes with stubble-deflecting lugs and an anti-stubble belt in the tread area that is claimed to extend the tyre’s life by preventing piercing, chipping and gouging from stubble.
Michelin has introduced a tyre for use on high-horsepower tractors, sprayers and treatment machinery used for managing crops grown in rows, such as potatoes, carrots and maize.
Previously available only on the North American market, the YieldBib tyre is narrower than those normally fitted to 250+hp tractors and comes with stubble-deflecting lugs and an anti-stubble belt in the tread area that is claimed to extend the tyre’s life by preventing piercing, chipping and gouging from stubble.
Michelin says the 45° lug angle also gives better traction and less slippage in all weather conditions, thereby helping to improve fuel economy while making full use of the machine’s power.
According to Michelin, the ultraflex technology can carry the same load with up to 40% reduced pressure, while limiting soil compaction by spreading the tractor’s weight over a larger footprint.
