Hennessy Auctioneers held its second auction since COVID-19 lockdown restrictions lifted. The auction took place in its usual location at the old mart in Portlaoise.

Bidding was both on site and online which proved a great success, according John Hennessy of Hennessy Auctioneers.

This 2004 New Holland TM with 11,000 hours on the clock sold for €18,600 including VAT.

“There were over 250 registered bidders onsite Saturday, with all social distancing measures fully respected. Every bidding number secured a socially distanced seat in the arena to prevent overcrowding. A further 187 bidders were registered to bid online,” he noted.

“There has been a serious demand at both our recent June and July auctions with online bidding via the LSL app proving to be a good success. It gives people better access and flexibility to bid on items from the comfort of their armchair,” John explained.

This 4WD Ford 5000 sold for €8,750.

Just under 350 lots were sold resulting in a total clearance rate of 85%. All prices were subject to 5% commission, subject to a maximum fee of €1,000 plus 23% VAT on commission only. Lots have no VAT unless otherwise stated.

Hennessy’s next auction is scheduled for 22 August, at the same location on site at the old mart in Portlaoise and online.

This 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser LWD with approx 182,000km on the clock sold for €7,500.

This 2007 Massey Ferguson 6490 was displaying 10,000 hours on the clock. It went unsold at €25,000 including vat.
