Five-star win
Tipperary’s Denis Lynch enjoyed a win in the 1.40m two-phase opening class at the five-star World Cup show in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Riding the 10-year-old stallion HO Go Van de Padenborre (Darco x Chin Chin) to the fastest clear in 29.29 seconds, he snatched the winner’s prize of almost €4,000.
Irish Polocrosse Awards
The Irish Polocrosse Association Awards and Gala Ball will be celebrated at the Ramada Resort Hotel, Dundalk, County Louth, on 11 March.
Organised by the Tyrella Polocrosse Club, Bluegrass Horse Feeds have come on board sponsoring the new ‘Special Merit Award’ category.
All welcome. Tickets cost €35 for a three-course meal with a kiddies option at €20.

HSI conference
A reminder that the Horse Sport Ireland International Marketing Symposium takes place at the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, on Thursday 9 March next.
The strong lineup of speakers includes Malahide international sport horse agent Barry O’Connor and top racehorse trainer and breeder Jim Bolger.
It also includes Galway native Enda Carroll of Ashford Farm and Kilkenny international show jumper Marion Hughes among others.
